Dismantling of Hangar One begins

I know that there’s been arm-wrestling going on for years about the spectacular and historic Hangar One at Moffett Field. But I hadn’t realized that this dramatic a milestone had been reached.

If you have any influence in the area, I urge you to support the completion of this restoration project.

In the next several months, workers will remove the walls and roof of Hangar One at Moffett Field until all that’s left is the historic structure’s skeletal frame.

While NASA intends to restore the hangar and replace its siding, many of those who have fought for years to preserve the massive building are worried that may never happen and lament the loss, at least temporarily, of a Silicon Valley landmark.
