Harrison Ford crash

I'm sure everyone has heard about Harrison Ford's incident by now, and I figure that there are some people like me who immediately wanted to find it on the liveatc archives. Here it is http://archive-server.liveatc.net/ksmo/KSMO-Twr-Mar-05-2015-2200Z.mp3 You want to listen to 21:20 and on. Ford only...

Where is 368?

The episode numbers jumped right from 367 to 369. Are we going to be receiving an episode 378? I would think that this was just a numbering error and 369 should be 368, but I actually think 368 may have been recorded but never posted. My reasoning is that they never covered the spaceship two crash w...

The Stingy Pilot

Hello, I just wanted to share with you all a blog that I've been working on about affordable flying. Its just a few posts so far, but I'm gradually adding to it. I would really like some more readers since my mom didn't get past the first post :) . Leave me some comments on the blog and let me know ...

Candy Bomber Movie

Hello UCAP listeners, I just heard about a movie coming to select theaters in October which may interest some of you. It is not an aviation themed movie, but it does have a segment featuring my personal favorite aviation for good stories. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka "Mo...

Re: Annie Best Higdon (1955-2014) RIP

Dave, I'm very sorry for your loss. You've never met me, but I feel as though I met you about six months ago when I first decided to search for an aviation related podcast. Since then I've listened to nearly 200 episodes and I even feel as though I know Annie a little bit. I wanted to let you know t...

Re: Lesson frequency for private pilot training

Thanks cozy171bh. I think you're right about flying frequency. I guess I should just try to find a way to fly often. I've been doing a lot of studying and I think there are a lot of things I can do to keep the cost down, and I suppose taking shorter flights is one option. I've got some other things ...

Re: Lesson frequency for private pilot training

I've heard many people say that, and its great. I may do that, and I may not, but that still doesn't really answer my question. Say I have an airplane, but I can still only afford to fly it once a month (because just fuel alone is difficult for my budget). So if even after I get my license I can onl...

Lesson frequency for private pilot training

Everyone I’ve ever talked to about pilot training has said the same thing: Save up money (and maybe even vacation time at work) so that you can get the whole license as fast as you can. They say that you should fly around twice a week so that you don’t forget everything between lessons. If you are f...
