An article on GA in the Atlanta Journal Constitution

This is a well-written article about a local aviation mentor.

Re: UCAP #433 - "International Cherry"

A little grist for the mill on our all-time favorite topic: ATC Privatization... It was mentioned in a recent FlightAware news post that House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster is (or was) dating a top lobbyist for Airlines for America(!) Can anyone corroborate this? ...

UCAP 400 Bravo

Really enjoyed both 400 episodes!
The sentiment "Skill and daring have cheated fate and ignorance once again" needs to find it's way on to the UCAP merch site.

Profile of a middle-class pilot

In case you missed it, NPR did a nice segment on a school teacher who finds away to support his GA habit. The title is corny but it's a good piece. http://n.pr/1yYCT9e

Re: "Why a Duck?" UCAP #305

It now seems inevitable to me that there will be a UCAP entitled "Sanity Clause."

Re: EP #309

Regards the hobbit-themed Air New Zealand safety brief, they did an eye catching one a few years back that was memorable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-Mq9HAE62Y  Kia Ora indeed! All kidding aside, I found AirNZ to be a great airline, even in steerage. Would definitely fly them again.

Flying NZ

On a long-overdue trip to New Zealand, my bride and I were very lucky to commit some General Aviation while there this month. :D My brother has lived on the North Island for nearly forty years and it's not hard to understand why. My first visit left me with the impression of New Zealand as a beautif...

Re: Anyone flown around Maui lately?

Mike, It's been a few years ago for me too but I did the Maui county circuit with Maui Aviators plane and CFI. It was a nice aircraft and a great day to fly. The scenery is unforgettable. BTW, my avatar pic is the north coast of Molokai, taken on that trip. The only negative was the CFI; he complain...

'Mama Bird' has flown west

Some sad news about one of GA's grand dames , Evelyn Johnson. If ever you needed proof of the axiom "Time spent flying is NOT subtracted from your lifespan", here you go. The audio of the 2003 interview is great. http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2012/05/11/152504446/mama-bird-evelyn-joh...

BizJets for the unwashed?

Anyone else see this in the NY Times yesterday?

Let's hope TSA doesn't get wind of this and start beating the LASP drum again!
