We're giving away two copies of PilotFAR over on the news feed. Just answer a few short FAR related trivia questions for your chance to win.

Re: iPods and iPhone Apps

The iPhone app list I have been maintaining on my site pilotbrad.com is now gone. The good news is that it now lives on its own site http://www.AviatorApps.com ! :D The new site will be more more feature rich that the old list, and will link you directly into iTunes. In addition, you'll soon...

Re: Episode #125 "Landing Catywompus"

I don't think you are supposed to "adjust for wind." Currently, ATC issues you a heading to fly, they have already considered the wind. There has been much debate about whether it would be better to be issued a "ground track" to fly, but for now, my understanding is that ATC exp...

Re: Episode #125 "Landing Catywompus"

Just a quick note about Auto-pilots. Maybe I am wrong, but I thought I heard James comment that you aren't allowed to use an AP during your checkride. "The List" keeps growing. If you've got more you would like to see listed, send them over. However I do reserve the right to not list something I think is too game-ish or not aviation related enough.

Re: Getting kids passionate about flying

It turns out that the "pat pat pat" comes from the Baby Enstein series of videos for young kids where they fly around in a red jet. LOL! My 2-yr old daughter is hooked on the red jet "Rocket", or as she says "Ra-Ra". Every episode she says along with them... pat-pat-pa...

Re: iPods and iPhone Apps

I've been compililing a list of apps and sites... http://pilotbrad.com/iphone-resources/ It's a few weeks out of date and I've already had a few developers email me about adding their apps to the list. I'll try to update it in the next few days. PS... With the help of the Planemadness podcast I've f...

Re: SF Bay Area Meetup

Can anyone recommend a good FBO where I could get a lesson in a 172 or 182? There's Diamond Aviation in San Carlos [ http://www.ksql.com ], or West Valley Flying Club [ http://www.wvfc.org ] at San Carlos, Palo Alto and Hayward. There are more, but I don't have experience with any of the others clo...
