Attempting low(er) cost ADSB in the UK

Hey Gang! I came across this the other day put out by NATS (the folks managing airspace in the UK). It describes a trial of using a non-certified GPS source and transponder to get ADSB data out, as well as a second initiative - LPAT. This would be a low power, portable (ADSB lite) device that would ...

Re: Snowbirding in Florida

Given that there is no airshow, what kind of lens would work best? This will change the camera body I bring.

Thanks,

Mike

Snowbirding in Florida

Hey Gang, I'll be coming down to the Orlando area from Canada in mid-January. I've already done my T-6 aerobatic flight there, so this time I'd like to grab a Skyhawk and an instructor for some US airspace training. Looks like I can start from Orlando Executive or Kissimmee, but any suggestions for ...

The Flying Car Perfected??

This just came out of left field. Great looks, and if it does what the designers say, it might actually be a viable vehicle for some. From the website: AeroMobil 3.0 also implements a number of other advanced technologies, such as a variable angle of attack of the wings that significantly shortens t...

Re: Pilots suffer unnecessary stop-and-search actions

As an outsider looking into the States, I remember back not too long ago when many jokes were made about the Soviet Union that at some point included the phrase (with a bad foreign accent) "papers please". Now China is opening up to GA. My how times change.

A Lion resting in the tall grass.

Glad nobody was hurt. Hope they didn't use jet fuel for the burgers.

When using the Maine Turnpike, do you have to pay a toll?

Glad everyone's OK. "But they did look embarrassed," Greenleaf said. "If I was flying an airplane, I'd like to land with a couple of gallons left in the tank. Everybody was talking about what a great pilot he is. Well, that seems to the first thing a great pilot does — make sure you h...

Hunting Wild Pigs with Drones

While I hope that flying drones at night happens WELL below any possible GA traffic, their is a HUGE payoff here withe the last graph of the article: Brown said the only other way to increase its efficiency would be to affix a gun directly to the drone (a terrifying thought). “It would be so easy to...
