Re: AirVenture newbie looking for advice

Hey thanks Jeff! Much appreciated. Yeah, the sponsorship came totally out of left field, and their generosity just blew us away. We're really thrilled to be able to come over, but it'll still be on a shoe string budget, hence this post. I want to get down to Arkansas and record some content in the p...

AirVenture newbie looking for advice

Hi folks So, I'm coming over to the US this month (from Australia) to attend Oshkosh, and seriously looking forward to it. I've spent a lot of time in the US, but it's my first time at Oshkosh. After the show, I need to get down to Heber Springs (HBZ) in Arkansas to visit some close friends before h...

Re: Everyone PLEASE learn from my TFR violation!

Major props to you, Joe, for being so up front about your incident. It allows all of us to learn from your experience, and despite all the complexities here, hopefully it will prevent others from finding themselves in the same situation. Oh, and ATC_Ben, you'll need more than just a couple of months...

Re: Wings & Fins - Tooradin Victoria Australia

Sadly, this restaurant is no more. Even more sad is that the FBO next door is also history. A sad sign of the times. Now we'll have to find another place for a $200 hamburger Down Under.

Combined multi podcast meetup - Victoria Australia

UCAP has to have prominence at this small meetup because the participants all met through this forum. Steve & Grant from Australia, and Joe from Nebraska all met, along with their families, for a great evening of Aussie barbecue and plenty of hanger/podcast talk (for the guys anyway!) A great ti...

Re: UCAP meetup at Avalon 2009 (Australia)

Oh, yeah, re. the "summer" weather here...well, you wouldn't have known it on the Sunday of the show. Cold, wet, windy & muddy. Part of the flying programme was scrapped, including the B1 and the F111 displays.

Re: UCAP meetup at Avalon 2009 (Australia)

Oh no! Didn't see this post before I went to Avalon. Sorry fellas...there could have been three of us! FYI...another Aussie based international meetup is planned for September. One of our fellow listeners from the US will be here, so we're planning to meet - I was thinking of the restaurant at Toora...

Re: What IS that that Jeb says....?

"Y'all"...now there's a Southern expression that even after living in Arkansas, my accent manages to butcher each time I attempt it!

Cheers!
