Re: What is this plane?

I agree that the Nimrod is not pretty but it does a great job. What they did to it for the AEW version takes ugly to a new dimension http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/5/5/4/0999455.jpg Concorde has it all though: grace, power, speed, exclusivity - sadly no longer gracing the skies....

Re: What is this plane?

@ txpilot82 What do you mean? Brits are ugly! My missus would tell you that I am lovely! As to airplanes take a look at this link ( a few US beauties in there too but must admit we design for function rather than looks sometimes) http://www.fortunecity.com/tattooine/farmer/120/index.html I think the...

Re: Episde #145: "Jeb's Shiny Spinner"

Dave My humble apologies. I have now shot the editor of the database I subscribe to for not noting that AF-1 was a re-work :o Seriously. I should have known better than to try to correct you, particularly on a Beech machine, the Wichita connection etc. It is good that this bird survived the D-M smelt...

Re: Episde #145: "Jeb's Shiny Spinner"

Sorry for the late contribution but I am just catching up with my podcast listening Dave mentioned in a shout-out the Beech 18/C-45 that was being installed in Wichita. It was noted that this aircraft was c/n AF-1 and was a significant machine from WW2. This jarred a little with my little knowledge ...

Re: Episode #126 "That Didn't Mute?"

Lucaberta Not sure if this is the right place to discuss beer, although the guys seem to imbibe on a regular basis and Dave's "that didn't mute?" moment may well have had a brewery link? ( Nice one Dave. Good tone, depth and volume. One to be proud of) When I said some Belgian beers are OK...

Re: Episode #126 "That Didn't Mute?"

Well thank you, Dave - much appeciated. I shall pour myself a Chimay. Not quitte a Lineies but some Belgian beers are OK.

I told my missus that I was a winner and she told me that perhaps I should buy a lottery ticket this week

Re: Episode #126 "That Didn't Mute?"

Gents Just been listening to 126 whilst driving home from a weekend in the Belgian Ardennes. (Internet jetlag means I don't listen until a few days after publication!) I do believe that I should claim the prizeless prize. The 6 engined bird you were referring to is the Giant Antonov An-225 Mirya - q...

Re: Episode 102

Just been catching up with UCAP during my daily commute. Love the show because of the diversity of topics, the knowledge (and wisdom) of Jeb, Dave and Jack however (and I hesitate here) I have to point out that Dave is slightly off in his knowledge of Cross-Channel flying - i.e. between France and E...

Re: U.S Airshows

TS2 I'd suggest a visit closer to home for your first foray into airshows - cheaper and no jetlag! The following link might help you choose where to go http://www.scramble.nl/airshows/index.html You just missed Farnborough and most of the best (in my opinion) take place late spring but depending upo...
