Thanks, because I'm gonna make it

After multiple restarts on pilot training, finally all the stars have aligned, and I'm back in the left seat for what is shaping up to be a successful run at my certificate. I'm posting this note in thanks to the broader UCAP community for your friendship and encouragement that have kept me engaged ...

OFLotW in a Connecticut parking space

Pilot is 79 and parked his plane next to a car! Sort of. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj7uc6OzJ_WAhVI1oMKHZj3D14QFggwMAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nbcnewyork.com%2Fnews%2Flocal%2FCrews-Responding-After-Plane-M...

Hand-propped runaway?

Jack H, OFLotW Fodder... sort of. National news (incl CBS) on June 15-16 was showing a viral video of a yellow taildragger taxiing in circles in a field, with the 9-1-1 phone call of the pilot or a bystander reporting that the plane got moving by itself and was doing random circles. Emergency person...

Re: "Bittersweet" UCAP #363

And, holy crap back at ya... I have been sitting on this for a week and forgot to listen. This was recorded nearly a month ago, and hearing it today took me right back to the sweet, not the bitter, of Oshkosh. Speaking as part of EAA Radio, you guys are a great content partner and we enjoy working w...

Re: Drones Crashing

And, Jeb Burnside, here's a more recent story, same subject, except the crashes are happening globally in civilian airports. Some form of nation-building, I suppose. http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/drone-crashes-mount-at-civilian-airports-overseas/2012/11/30/e75a13e4-3a39-11e2-...

I was so glad to hear that UCAP's summer hiatus is over and you are back at it! Normal rhythm restored; life can resume.

Re: Pair building airplane on live webcasts

Jack--on a podcast some months ago, you mentioned Brady Lane and something like "the job I wish I had" etc. I was on their Tuesday webcast same day and shared that with them via their online community host, who happens to be Fareed Guyot. All got a chuckle out of that.

Episode #193 "Finicky in the 10's"

A huge AMEN to Jack's well-reasoned and well-spoken comments about where the larger aviation firms need to invest to grow the number of pilots. It's about funding for the people who already want to fly...would LOVE to find a way to fly. It's not about convincing the unconvinced. An unsecured loan fo...

Re: Certificated Aircraft that comply with LSA

I have been offered the rental of a Luscombe for $25/hr dry once I obtain my LS license with a tailwheel endorsement.

Can anyone here comment on what it's like to fly one?
