A day of firsts including an on field OFLotW...

A day of firsts -- First day of airplane ownership, first engine fire, first emergency landing, and first fire truck ride. Last weekend I took a trip out of town to look at an Ercoupe that was for sale. I flew in it four times on Saturday without any problems. The first flight was the "test d...

Re: Choosing a hangar.

Thanks for the tips! I went to the airport this morning and picked out an East facing hangar. Very little snow around here and I'm more of a morning tinkering than an evening one. If I buy the plane I'm going to look at tomorrow, I'll have a place to put it. Wish me luck!

Choosing a hangar.

When I called the airport they asked me which direction I preferred the hangar to face. I never thought about it. Any tips on choosing a hangar?

Anyone have an experience with parking these types of planes on the ramp? Any idea on how long the p...

Re: LSA rental in Phoenix, AZ?

It turns out that the SportStar is going to be in the shop this weekend due to an incident. They were nice enough to refer me to Falcon Executive Aviation. Falcon has a SkyCatcher in their fleet.

KLEX Opens it's doors (and a runway) to the community

Here's an example of positive community involment at an airport. In 2010 this event drew more than 15,000 people to bike, run, walk and roller blade on one of the the runways at Lexington's Bluegrass Airport. http://www.2ndsundayky.com/2nd-sunday-lexington.htm http://www.bluegrassairport.com/050211_...

LSA rental in Phoenix, AZ?

I'm going to be in Phoenix, AZ at this end of this month and I'm looking to fly an LSA while I'm in the area. I see that Alliance Flight School has an Evektor SportStar in Scottsdale, AZ. Anyone know of others in the area?

Thanks,

Jason
