Re: "Failure Mode" UCAP #396

Thanks for the FANTASTIC episode. Sounded like the three of you were having a GREAT time! Happy to hear Dave is building. Will love the process and love even more flying once complete. I'm still enjoying my RV-12. :D

Re: Episode 380 Charlie from Sun-n-Fun

Just finished listening to #380C. Nice to hear you guys from SunNFun and wish I was there. Think Dave provided a bit of mis-information with regard to the differences between building E-LSA or E-AB when one has the option. Yes, after initial certification as an E-LSA, the owner can modify the E-LSA ...

EP 371

Nice episode. Thanks. Loved the shoutout to Jim Lovell. If you are in Chicago or near Chicago, Jim has a VERY nice restaurant just north of the city in Lake Forest. http://www.lovellsoflakeforest.com/

Re: "Podcast Fixation" UCAP #348

Great job on the last episode. I'm also caught up and now have to listen to the other aviation related podcast when I'm at the YMCA. Nice set of comments on the RV-12. I love mine. You should really consider calling your friend Adam Smith who is now working for Van's Aircraft. An in-depth interview ...

Re: RunwayFinder shut down

I also read that RunwayFinder provided their sectional data and software to ForeFlight for the iPad and AirNav. We will most like;ly lose those services also.

Re: RunwayFinder shut down

The firestorm has just barely started. There have been a number of postings on Twitter and Facebook, and this morning, AvWeb made available a podcast with FlightPrep. The AvWeb interview is very revealing. Seems as though, FlightPrep is attempting to get the little guys to license, or, as in the cas...

Mason City, IA Restaurant to Reopen

Another good reason to fly: The airport restaurant at Mason City Airport, IA (MCW) will re-open. It sounds like breakfast all day, and burgers around the clock. Opens September 1. Should be a good stop for those flying from the southwest to Oshkosh 2011. http://www.globegazette.com/news/local/articl...

Mid-Air at Oshkosh

Thought you guys might find the attached photo interesting. As mentioned in either Episode 201 or 202, there was a midair at Oshkosh. Luckily, both planes landed. The photo shows the Piper PA-11 Cub at the EAA Chapter 75 Repair Barn. The tip of the prop on the plane was visibly bent. As such, he ind...

Re: Episode #149: "Pre 9/11 Pooch"

I had to agree with the comments regarding the Sport Pilot CFI. I totally agree that the FAA interpretation of the regulations is just plain and simple upside down. Hours are hours. Dual hours with a Sport Pilot-CFI should count torward the next level, the private pilot certificate. As I understand ...
