iGen and GA

Friend of mine shared this article with me. Sorry for the long piece, but it is a good read. Control-F your way to "driving" if you want to skip to the parts I thought were more pertinent to GA. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/09/has-the-smartphone-destroyed-a-generation/...

A new mission

Chalk this one up to another experience that wouldn't have happened it if weren't for this podcast. Though I consider myself an Oshkosh veteran, this was the first year I was able to make it to the tiedown party. (I'm one of those folks that Jeff welcomed into the party. Thanks, and, again, very nic...

A new entry in LSA???

This has been making its way around the internet (never sure if these things are a hoax or not).

On behalf of the listeners to the podcast, I would like to present … The aircraft that Dave would NOT fly:

Kabinakagami Lake

Sorry if this is a lengthy story. But I simply have to share our latest flying adventure. Back in the winter, my son, my dad and I started talking about plans for the summer. It started by fishing on Lake Erie, a 2 hour drive from Columbus. Then, we thought, why not go someplace in Canada and fish f...

Re: UCAP #283 "487 Miles"

Wasn't sure if it would have been better to post this under logbook memories. But, during shout-outs, Jeb mentioned the Findlay air rally, which took place today. Unfortunately I had to work and couldn't make it. But my dad (we share the airplane) and my son made it over and WON! Now, there were onl...

Re: Indy 500

KDLZ, which is in the Central Ohio area. 2.8h flight round trip. Compare that to the 3 hour drive on an incredibly dull stretch of I-70.

Indy 500

Not sure if there are many other race fans on here. I have three annual rituals ... Sun n Fun, Airventure, and the Indy 500. In the past I had been reluctant to try flying to the race for fear of an onerous arrival procedure and possible busting a TFR. But this year, I did a little research, made a ...
