SF Bay Area Flying

Need some advice from folks who might know. I will be in an out of Silicone Valley for work several times a month for the foreseeable future. Can anyone recommend a good FBO/Flying Club/Etc to join so I can have access to an aircraft while I am there?

Re: ADS-B/ iPad / stratus/ question?

I used the WingX/SkyRadar solution for a while. The problems with WingX that I experienced are as follow: Traffic data link lost +/- 70% of the time App crashes (iPad 2 and iPad 3) midflight NEXTRAD update stops with no indication Zoom level on charts isn't enough to see complex airspace Feature ove...

Re: ADS-B/ iPad / stratus/ question?

Having owned both the Radarana Sky Radar (combine with WingX and Sky Radar) which displays traffic, and now the Stratus (with ForeFlight) I can say that I don't notice the absence of traffic information at all. The Stratus is a much better product, better built, easier to use, etc. ForFlight also pu...

Ride Sharing/Trip Swap/Buddy Finder

So here I am today planning my CC from KJYO (Northern VA) to 42J (Northern FL) and I find myself thinking that I really do not want to spend 3.5 hours talking to myself (and ATC). Does anyone know of a ride sharing/trip swap site out there? I am thinking somewhere that hooks pilots up with other pil...

Re: Making the move to multi

Jeb -
Contact information would be most helpful.

Since you are a former DC-ite do you have a suggestion for a regular shop for Beech stuff? I know Tracy but other than that?

Also, in the process I am going to re-base to HEF - anything worth knowing?

Thanks

Thanks Jeb -
I am moving in the direction of a Baron too.

Know any good Beech mechanics in the NC area (plane is based there right now).

Anyone want to buy a Grumman?

Making the move to multi

I have rudely failed to introduce myself for some time but I have been enjoying this forum and the podcast. My name is Eliot, I live in Northern Virginia and am based a KJYO (Leesburg, VA). I am currently the very proud owner of a Grumman AA5 which I adore. Life requirements, and business changes ha...
