Episode #173 "15 Knots of Tail"

Jack, you really have to refresh your memory, especially about Va - if the Cessna pilot applied too much G above Va it will break up before it stalls.

Re: Episode #164 "Three Airplanes"

My three airplanes:

1. Go everywhere, not necessarily fast - Husky with tundra tires/floats/skis
2. Go fast, not necessarily everywhere - Cessna Mustang? Any other small jet that would allow me to fly hops to Europe and back to visit my folks there
3. And of course something aerobatic - Extra?

Getting your PPL being foreigner.

Being a foreigner who just got through this process I have to add a word of clarification: - TSA approval is needed only for initial training, instrument rating and MEL. All other ratings can be done without TSA approval. - the documents you upload and fingerprinting happens only once - they store t...

Episode #159 "Better Late Than Never?"

Abut the yokes coming of the shafts - apparently they discovered technology problem - even though they found just two examples of malfunction the process of assembly is prone to break so there is no other way to fix this as to mandate it to all Pipers that are equipped with shafts from the period wh...

Episode #106

Here is great GPS for you Jack: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/av80r.php I played with it a bit at Oshkosh, the biggest advantage of it is it's street navigation part - it uses iGo 08 which in my opinion is one of the best out there. Air part isn't that bad too and you can also use WX...

Interesting article about TSA:

Looks like they have more important things they should take care of than pushing for their TS-2008-0021 proposal.

Re: UCAP #84 "Frog Strangler"

I've got a small suggestion - could you guys go again through the podcast (this and all previous) and actually post all those links you promised to? I'm listening for couple of minutes already how you guys talk about Ford's trimotor and I'd really love to be able to see it too.

Re: UCAP #71 "Jeb Was Right"

As far as I can tell from what I saw on VAF forum the leading RV was last to leave the runway and the other three were already on the taxiway. So apparently the runway was clear. But that's my impression base on what I saw in the news - it may not be true :-(

Re: UCAP #71 "Jeb Was Right"

Small feedback on the episode. I happened to be around some airports and I noticed that more often than not there are people filming or taking pictures just outside of airport fence. I assume they are waiting for crash and chance to sell pictures/footage of it to the news. So no surprise this case i...
