VR and Flight Sims

Howdy, I thought about holding off on posting until I've actually tried it, but there's only so many days left in the Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1232710074/flyinside-fsx is funding an extension for Microsoft Flight Simulator X that will allow you to use it with the Oculus DK2 ...

Re: Drones, A Proper Place?

An old game my teacher used to play, called...

How to lose friends and alienate people... http://macsblog.com/2012/06/is-ga-transportation-flying-dead/ I've thought for a while now that there's a gap between those who "fly themseves for fun" and those who "fly themselves to go places." I'm definitely in the "fly myself f...

For those folks interested in pics of "Lucky Stars" (the yellow U/L they talk about in episodes 179A and 180), you can find them here: http://www.homebuiltairplanes.com/forums/light-stuff-area/4903-new-design-19.html#post53810 In the rest of the thread, Mark Stull goes through his design a...

Re: What's ts the text of the disclaimer?

They had a small wall with what looked like hunting trophies only they were really different Dr. Seuss characters. That sounds very cool! Imagine decorating your kids' room with those! :D  I almost decorated my monitor with soda as I imagined the mounted head of the Grinch grinning evilly over...

Re: Authorization to fly an experimental aircraft??

My best guess is no, you don't need anything that you haven't already obtained. It sounds like you've already obtained the training necessary to safely fly the plane so it's now just a question of paperwork. A couple of questions: 1. What certificate, ratings, and endorsements do you already have? Y...
