Taking a Navajo into KORD (O'Hare)

Hey everyone. So in a few Sundays I'm to fly into O'Hare is a little 'ol Navajo. I do all single pilot corporate IFR and have no reservation about going into an airport like Pearson (Toronto YYZ)... but let's face it - nothing is like O'Hare. Can anyone offer any advice about KORD? What should I aim...

Re: Flying the Edge of America

This is going to be an unpopular post... but what the hell. I have to disagree with something... it does take more than willpower to get the IFR in place. Of course - willpower is for sure what's needed. Some people simply are not cut out to be pilots. I used to be an active scuba instructor, and wh...

GPS Mounts

So I just picked up a Garmin 696. Great little device. The mount that came with it would work fine with a small plane, but I wanted to try using it in a Navajo. Problem is - the Navajo yoke has a diameter that's too thick for the mount that came with the GPS - probably pretty typical for any "l...

Re: Coming to Wichita

;-)
I wish I had that pull ;-)

Meeting has been pushed up to the 20th and 21st though. If that's still viable for a UCAP Meetup - I'm in.

Re: Episode #164 "Three Airplanes"

So I guess there are a lot of twitters going on about Jack in a 182. ;-) Well Jack - if you are ever up around Toronto I'd love to give you a lift. One of the planes I fly is a 2007 T182T. I'd be thrilled to take you up for an hour or more and have you fly the thing around to get the feel of one - d...

Re: Coming to Wichita

Hey Guys. I must confess - I'm pretty pumped about an impromptu meeting. I'm meeting some Textron folks for diner that night but afterwards I'll be looking for something to do. I'll grab a cab and make my way to wherever people are meeting. I wish I was flying myself to Kansas, but alas - the airlin...

Re: Coming to Wichita

I'm having diner with some aviation clients the first night (27th) in but I'd love to catch up for drinks later in the evening. If that doesn't work, the following afternoon for a late lunch is cool too (my fight out is at 4pm). Alas - I'm flying airlines (I feel so dirty) and I'll be long gone by F...

Coming to Wichita

I'm coming into Wichita (ICT) Jan 27/28 for work.
I thought I might mix some pleasure with business if there are any meetups scheduled around that time. ;-)
