I flew the flybaby down there this morning. Strip is 2100 feet long but both ends have displaced thresholds. landing on 8 gives 1900 feet of landing but on 26 is only 1200ish feet of landing, if you obey the displaced thresholds. either way, walk just across the street (literally) to the north and y...

i flew the glider yesterday on a 5000 AGL tow to do some testing to determine the glide polar. finished it off with a landing in the cut soybean field behind my CFI-G's house. heres the video:

70ish miles in a hang glider is pretty good!

i had another flight on wednesday where i did a 46 nautical mile triangle and made it back! took me 3 hrs and 10 minutes and i was home in time for my 5 PM student in a 172.

I had a really nice glider flight today. Havent gotten a chance to do any soaring this year so it was great to get out and stretch my legs a bit. Here is the report: The flight was really good. I got off tow in some pretty good lift, and got up around 6000 feet before departing to the south of Ames....
