Re: "WOOF" UCAP424

Flying out of a class delta airport underlying Boston's class bravo airspace, I typically use flight following for every flight. Unless you are heading due west, you will be circumnavigating the Boston bravo which means you will be over-flying one or more class Deltas, often with only 500 feet betwe...

I love the panel hint sheet for squawk codes!

If you want to have an F-18 join up on you, squawk 7500!

Re: Reselling N number

On the "shortnnumbers.com" website, they comment that 132,000 N-numbers are being reserved by individuals and businesses and are not assigned to aircraft. Almost makes their 650 numbers look like not so much.

But it still sucks.

Re: "Replace Your Divots" UCAP422

As "other Jeff" (AirportDude) says, there are lots of people at an airshow who require supplemental entertainment. And I agree with Tom that it can be hard to draw the line. I'm a long-time R/C flier and instructor, a PP-SEL/SES, and now a Part 107 Remote Pilot. I think that having the R/C...

Re: Reselling N number

How long is an N-number reservation good for? Does $10 reserve a number permanently? I would hope not.

Re: Episode #420 - Continuous Turn Approach

I remember my DPE (on my private checkride) commenting that a short approach was just a continuous turn to the runway, and (fortunately) that was how my instructor had taught them. I always enjoyed that smooth, continuous turning descent. The only downside I can think of is that it doesn't provide t...

Re: UCAP 418 - "Miss Steery"

Very Cool Jeff! I only did a four year stint. (Plus 3 extra months to get a join-spouse assignment at the end.) After Basic (3711 BMTS) I took a school bus across Lackland to the Crypto Maintenance School Squadron and enjoyed San Antonio for another six months. Then to the 1972 Comm. Squadron at Egl...

Re: UCAP 418 - "Miss Steery"

AirportDude, Unrelated, but coincidentally - I spent a week at Tinker in the early 80's attending a training course sponsored by the base's Crypto shop. I don't remember what it was for, but I do remember this New Englander's surprise at seeing working oil wells along the main streets of Oklahoma Ci...
