Re: Soon-to-be-student

It seems to me that pilot bags are a personal things, like high-wing vs low-wing... but here's my two-cents: For years and years I had a Sisson Satchels bag, which I loved. http://www.sissonsatchels.com/ But a year or so ago I watched this video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx6z514a3tc ... and...

Re: Episode #194 "The Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot Department

I have been interested in starting flight training for a couple of years now, but the only thing that has deterred me is the cost. 3 years ago, I began to look for a flight school to train with. I was 13 at that point so I was a little too young to begin. The cost for a privates license was about $4...

Re: John and Martha King Incident

If I read the article correctly, it says that the plane is a rental. So why did they stop the Kings' but not any of the previous renters?

Across the country in a Cub

Across the country in a Cub

My current reading material is titled "Flight of Passage" by Rinker Buck. He and his brother decide to fly across the country in a Piper Cub to relive there father's flying days. As I've been reading it, I've always thought that would be really neat to do (since I am in the 15-17 year old ...

Re: Headsets for little kids

Hello everyone. I want to get my four-year old son a headset and was wondering if anyone has experience with either the Sigtronics or David Clark youth headsets. This summer I, along with his grandfather (also a pilot), plan to take him on his very first GA flight... Big day. Any and all advice is ...

Re: Apps for the non-iPhone/Pad user

Having had no bites on this one for a month, I did some research myself and found that you can get Foreflight weather, Avilution Quickweather, AirWX Aviation Weather, and Pilot My-Cast Weather in the Android app store. Anybody used any of these (probably in some other form)? Don Peven I have used F...

Re: Episode #202

I agree with champguy. "Line up and wait" sounds very rushed and informal compared to "position and hold" which is more relaxed and formal.

Soon-to-be-student

I am going to be starting to train for a private license, and I was wondering if anybody had suggestions for gear. I already have a Sigtronics S-40 headset, and am thinking about getting a FlightGear bag from Sporty's.
