Re: Episode #156 "Going Haywire"

Jack, I'm a little surprised that no one has razzed you about your use of "an electronic device" for your amazing video of the approach into National airport. I think that this is a silly rule given the fact that any avionics on a commercial jet that may be susceptible to interference fro...

Re: Episode #156 "Going Haywire"

Greg: How fast do you have to go to see the sun rise in the west? Can my Champ do it? I could take off in the dark and land legal in daylight. It can be done in the Champ, but I am not sure you can do it legally. Unless of course, you have the required lighting. What We did was take off a...

Re: Episode #156 "Going Haywire"

Last year my friends and I managed to watch the sun go up and down on the same day from my wind screen. I have seen the sun come up in the west. I have seen a rainbow that formed a perfect circle. I have seen spectacular Northern lights in the North Atlantic. I have seen St. Elmo's Fire in the tops...

Re: Episode #155 "Nuke 'Em Till They Glow"

Where to begin. This is a pretty long missive. Some of it is rant, some not. Hopefully you all can take something from it. I am just as incensed with the USA Today article as everyone else. I agree that the aviation SYSTEM we have includes everything aviation, not just the airlines. Each segment COM...

Re: Episode #152 "Dave Needs NyQuil"

It's interesting that you mention grease on the underbelly as washing the aircraft is mentioned in the very next paragraph of Appendix D. That's exactly why an IA is supposed to do the "grunt work" himself - because the IA may see something that a mechanic (and certainly an owner) may not...

Amen to that. And probably gets ignored by a lot of the shops in the country.

Re: Episode #150-"Three"

Congratulations on Episode 150. Here's to unlimited more. I have to credit the Pilot Cast group for getting me hooked on podcasts. Kudos to them. I go to AvWeb and Aero News Network to get current news and events. But I come to UCAP to get my dose of commentary on what I see in AvWeb and ANN. As far...
