Re: Newbie with questions

Congrats on your buy. The Tomahawk is a solid machine. And in my opinion if you have done your homework and selected one in good maintenance, properly STC'd, with reasonably low frame-time you should have many years of enjoyment. With all said, they can be an exceptional buy for the price. These bir...

Re: The "Piper Sport" is no more....

I'm so disappointed in Piper. I am a huge Piper fan. But as was said in an earlier comment... I feel left out in the cold. I dare you to even find a "Piper Learning Center" much less a flight school than even has fairly new Piper trainers. My heart is stuck with the first plane I ever flew...

In general I think Boeing aircraft are just sexier and sleeker than anything Airbus has ever designed. I'm not being a "hater", I'm just stating opinion!
The Champ... is just plain sexy on so many levels. Someday I'll find someone nearby that owns one and bribe them to take me for a ride.

Aero or Acro?

I'm going to step out on a limb here that is likely to break on me... but what the hell! Guys, each of you are well established writers... please tell me the difference between "Aero-" and "Acro-"? I know the FAA officially states the words are "interchangeable" with re...

Re: "David as Elmer as Bruce" UCAP #224

I loved hearing y'all talk about Arcadia airport (X06). I use this sleepy little airpark as a "pit stop" often. It was also the first airport I landed at while on my first long cross-country during primary training. The highlights of the airport: The double-wide trailer (sort-of) that serv...

The planes I rode in were at least 20 years old and the front seats had shoulder belts that reminded me of the shoulder belts that cars had in the late 60's or early 70's (a separate belt/buckle from the lap). LOL. I think of this every time I climb into the 1978 Cherokee I commonly fly (rent). As ...

Re: Block Island

Brendan, congrats on your license!
I was born in Rhode Island and remember Block Island well.
I only ever got to get there via ferry.
