Re: Night Vision

I had bought one of those Multi-color LED flashlights for the cockpit. I found that having the ability to change the color when looking at a chart brings out different detail. Some details (like Bravo Airspace delineations) disappear under blue light and so on. Being able to quickly press a button a...

Re: Where's the yoke?

How many of these new fast glass light sports will be still flying after forty or sixty years. I have often wondered this. The sun, especially here in FLA, is relentlessly brutal. Everything wears over time, even metal. But it seams that CF or fiberglass is much more difficult to repair. I don't kn...

Re: Hay this is kind of interesting

That is VERY cool!
I hi-jacked this picture from Wikipaedia... get a load of the 'turnstile' design on the rudder control.

Re: Where's the yoke?

(the Valor LSA at SouthernMaineAviation has yokes). Oh yeah. They have a Valor over at CLW (clearwater airpark). I've seen it, and it did have a yoke... I forgot that! That's a neat little plane. I have been meaning to take that up with a CFI to check it out. They boasted that thing starts climbing...

Where's the yoke?

I finally got up enough nerve to ask this question of people familiar with LSAs in general: Where's the yoke? I have yet to see (and granted... I haven't seen all that many) an LSA that has a standard control yoke. All seem to favor a stick. Why? The obvious answer to me might be: simplicity. But is...

You must be in "dark" phase of naming: "Bad Hotel Internet", "Bad Cronkite", "Bad Gas"... LOL

Re: Episode #141 - Electric Airplanes

I wanted to add to the comments made in the podcast regarding the electric airplane... Although I'm pretty new to the world of private aviation, and the thought of an electric airplane is even newer to me; the concept of electric propulsion is definitely not. I'm a huge advocate of electric cars and...

soccerjock, I'm real sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi to you. The shirt is cool. Thanks for your support. If you'll send me your post office mailing address, to podcast@uncontrolledairspace.com, we have something we'd like to send to you. -- Jack There's nothing to be sorry about, It was a mad...

Re: UCAP Shirt

Oh man, that is sooo cool! (The shirt AND the practical joke!) Thanks. It was freakin hot in the sun... I was soaked (hence the logo-shirt "bleeding"). Sun-N-Fun was good this year. Absolutely perfect weather. A little different layout than last year, and I think a few more new perm...
