CHANGE (tm)?

Well, this sounds like good news: All pending regs. pulled, comment periods (if already open) extended, to allow review by incoming administration. 'Large' aircraft security plan; background checks of GA pilots at scheduled service airports, just to name a few. http://www.govexec.com/pdfs/012109rb1....

Re: 1980's Aviation Games

When people ask me about MS Flight Simulator I'm reminded that I used to play that all the time on my Apple II and then Apple Mac. But the latest version of MSFS that works on a Mac reads on the box "Now in Color!". If you remember that far back, you'll remember that it wasn't MSFS as the...

Re: Episode #115 "Barflying"

I've never seen Amy post here, so I'm not sure if she reads the forums... Anyway, I can't be the only one who wondered (tongue-in-cheek) if her "Women of Cessna" article included a centerfold... :twisted:

Re: Episode #110 "Dave's New Modem"

The simple fact to keep in mind here is that studies have shown that, in real terms, having these high-level corporate leaders flying private aircraft is actually CHEAPER than flying the airlines. When you factor in the value of their time, scheduling needs, confidentiality, and other factors. It's...

Dave (and Hangar Gang);

Don't do it! Save it for the box set - Including never-before heard Episode #104 - The REAL Lost Episode. :D

Re: TSA Entrepreneurship

There may be 43,000 in the entire agency, but that likely includes the administrative staff of several if not tens of thousands in DC headquarters, or checkpoint screeners who have no opportunity to engage in this kind of theft. The relevant comparison is between the 300 that were fired (i.e., the o...

Re: Baseball at LGA

The replacement stadium is being built in the parking lot immediately adjacent to the current stadium (coincidentally, so is the new Yankee Stadium). It hardly seems worth the effort to update the chart, except to change the name to accomodate the owner of the naming rights. Maybe Citi should pay fo...

Re: Episode 102

Hey Jack, what's up with bleeping Dave in 102? I was gonna mention something about 101, and the fact that the iTunes "CLEAN" rating was probably down the tubes between Dave's Scary Mary trainee controller story (appropriately self-bleeped; still funny as hell! [can I say that here?]) and J...

Three Cheer's for Leinie's

Just came back from a great weekend trip to Ann Arbor, MI. Being at least close to the midwest ("Champions of the West" and all...) I watched the Michigan game at a bar that served Leinenkugel summer wheat on tap. I liked it so much I found a local beer distributor (not tough in a college ...

Re: must read books for the new PPL pilot

Stick & Rudder by Wolfgang Langeweische is a MUST I may be about to commit aviation blasphemy, but I just didn't get all that much out of "Stick & Rudder". By the time i read it, when I was starting my PPL training, I already had some dual in gliders, and an engineering minor in A...
