How do we make airports fun?

Jack has often pondered how we make our airports more fun and public-friendly. He has been to my old skydiving drop zone, Skydive Lebanon, in Lebanon, Maine, where there is a THRIVING community of really fun people. I'll throw out there some of my thoughts on Skydive Lebanon and other drop zones and...

http://news.yahoo.com/plane-hits-ferris ... 51274.html

"The pilot, Paul Cox, said he did not see the Ferris wheel before his plane hit it." Now I just HAVE to hear the rest of THAT story!

Why fake an RV build?

Hey, guys! You were pondering why someone would fake building an RV by posting hijacked photos on a web site. There could be several psychological reasons, but one practical reason is his attempt to obtain a Repairman's Certificate for the aircraft. The builder of a homebuilt aircraft can apply for ...

GA Airbags

Hey, guys: I listen to the podcast all the time. Thanks for all the hard work to make it happen! On GA airbags: the VAST majority of GA accidents and incidents are VERY survivable. An airplane "crash" (the media's words, not mine) is usually a controlled (at least until a tree or road sign...

Re: Episode #192 "Alumagami"

Another reason why UAV's are not so hot

Just another reminder of why we will always have piloted aircraft, and we'll never be able to do it all with UAV's. There is just no substitute for the (admittedly flawed) human brain and Mark 1 eyeball.

Re: Central New England Drive/Fly In Lunch Meetup

It's not exactly UCAP, but since we're all north easterners 'round these parts, I'll let you know about a Sonex fly-in/drive-in that I've put together for August. If UCAPers need another excuse to go fly somewhere, everyone is welcome. Lunch will be served, and a restaurant stop is anticipated after...
