Re: Part 103 FWI?

Here's a related question... what happens to someone who is caught using their aircraft to commit a crime? The photo attached to the article shows what it clearly an N-numbered Airborne Outback 2-seat trike registered as Experimental (FAA records don't specify whether it's Amateur-Built or LSA) but ...

Re: My UAV Experience (Unusual Airshow Viewing)

I did just watch the Sikorsky S-38 landing gear collapse on the 18-36 webcam. It really wasn't much to see... little more than a fuzzy line where the wing was, at a less-than-level angle to the runway... only reason I knew what happened was seeing it fly by a couple times right before. They had it b...

Re: My UAV Experience (Unusual Airshow Viewing)

some of us have been wondering if anyone captured the video off of this runway cam at the time of the premier jet crash a couple nights ago. ??? I didn't. I looked as soon as I heard about it, but I think the Runway 18-36 cam was actually looking at a wall by then. It's surprising that it seems tha...

EAA's Members-Only Policy for OSH Webcams - Good or Bad?

Here's a question that I'd like to have our award-winning new media guys give an opinion on... access to the Oshkosh webcams. I couldn't make it there this year, and I'm "lucky" enough to be able to spend time in front of my computer this week... so on Monday, I checked out EAA's webcams a...

Re: My UAV Experience (Unusual Airshow Viewing)

Another amusing sight... watching the Runway 9-27 cam on Thursday evening right after the airport closed, guess what floated by?

Sorry for the poor quality, WMP won't capture streaming images so I had to pull out the cellphone...

My UAV Experience (Unusual Airshow Viewing)

Heya, Just thought you might get a kick out of my "Oshkosh experience" this year. For most of the show, I've had ALL the live streaming media going, often all at once (quite a feat on my slow computer)... switching between 3 runway webcams, 3 channels of LiveATC going at once, and EAA Radi...

Re: Flying Magazine's 2010 Bax Seat Award

Awesome! You guys deserve it. Each edition of UCAP is eagerly awaited, always thoroughly enjoyed, and it really is a little bit sad when you get to the end of the episode knowing that it might be a week or two before you get to hear the next one. I think Bax would have been a big fan! Congratulation...

Re: Blast from the past

Way cool! There's something really fascinating about the way things used to be done. The farther back you go, the more you realize how spoiled folks today are with all the electronics, Internet, etc. The wall of the local airport pilot's planning lounge is covered in a bunch of 1960-era military map...

Why Aviation People Are So Great!!

This was on a closed runway, so I think that it technically is an OFLotW (... during Oshkosh week? Join the crowd, right? :D ) but I think the REAL story here is what happened AFTER the actual event, so I'm posting it here instead. This all happened at the famed Brodhead (WI) Pietenpol/Hatz gatherin...

Re: Three TFR Violations

Next time the president is going for a weekend away, get an armada of planes to overfly the TFR all day and show nothing bad happened. In 2004, I watched some yahoo fly an Aeronca RIGHT OVER, and then CIRCLE OVER, President Bush during a campaign speech in an open-air stadium. I can report first-ha...
