Re: L-3 Lynx ADS-B NGT-9000 transponder PIREP

Great PIREP. We just installed an Appareo and now I'm wondering about the traffic callout option on our com unit. I'll be looking into that.

Thanks,

The amazing flying machines of Chinese farmers

Here's another interesting story from the BBC. The aeronauts are their own EAA. There's not a third class medical, no STCs, no privatization controversy, and sometimes no survivors. And they don't worry about changing out their filament navigation bulbs with LEDs. But there does seem to be a lot of ...

Don't fly under an A380

It's not just the 757 that has dangerous wake turbulence.

Re: Circular Banked Runways?

Circular Banked Runways?

Researchers in the Netherlands have developed a circular runway concept that is very interesting. This video from the BBC explains how it works. Not sure this is going to takeoff (pun intended).

Re: Ever heard of a "Heat Burst?"

I was checking out the forum page to see if there was any life and I saw a post on something called a "heat burst." Having no idea what that was I clicked on the link and found out it was me that started the discussion. Good lord.

Affordable HUD Possibility

I came across this HUD tonight for autos and thought it would be a great addition to the Mooney flight deck. Maybe Wing X or Foreflight could port a portion of their app to this and give us ADSB traffic, airspeed, altitude, etc.? The FAA is sure to love it, right? https://www.navdy.com/?utm_source=A...

Apple Watch Flight Applications

We have a lot of very valuable applications for our phones and pads. My question for you three is what applications do you foresee being of benefit on something like the Apple Watch? I don't wear a watch and would need a very compelling reason to wear at $350 wristband. Someone must be thinking abou...

David, I have always admired how you have so often spoken with great respect, admiration and love for Annie. Your love for her and for your shared passion of aviation has made me smile many times. All three of you keep very good boundaries about sharing personal things with your audience. Even so, i...
