Re: Funny Preflight briefings

I've not met Ted personally, but from what I've seen on him on PoA, that sounds like something he would say :).

You need to bring this guy on the podcast...

Re: The Wings & Wheels Event Thread

It's been a long time since I've plugged the museum events on this forum, so I thought I'd give this thread a bump. This Saturday, September 19, 2009, from 10:00a - 5:00p, we are hosting Wings & Wheels - A Salute to Women in Aviation at The 1940 Air Terminal Museum in Houston, TX. We will have r...

Re: Episode #149: "Pre 9/11 Pooch"

It is a bit of a step backwards in terms of a stepping stone and I'm sure that it will be worked out. However, let's not get too carried away. The time which won't count is your dual before you had a SP cert. The Solo does count. This leaves you 20 hours of dual to log. one way to look at it: You n...

Re: Episode #149: "Pre 9/11 Pooch"

As for the part of being compensated for cfi-sp. My personal opinion is that you can (although I have nothing to back that up with in the regs). The FAA considers a CFI as being paid for being an instructor...not a pilot. That is why they only require a 3rd class medical to be an instructor. I gues...

Re: First entry for a new model

I got a new aircraft in my logbook the other day as well, though nowhere near as exciting as JHWellington's - I did my Flight Review and got checked out in a 1958 Cessna 175. This is basically a Cessna 172 that ate its Wheaties. It has the same, 6 cyl., Continental O-300 engine in it that 172's from...
