Re: Episode 211 The kid who stole the airplanes!

I have a rule of thumb about everything involving aviation (or other recreational activities)... if you're not having fun with it, you must be doing it wrong! :D Your rule of thumb is very close to mine: If you're not having fun with -- or at least enjoying whatever -- why do it? Flying squarely fa...

Past Due for an ICT Meet-Up?

What do you all think? Sometime in November? Traveling mid-month until the week before Thanksgiving; but here that weekend and after...maybe late November or first week of December...consider this an idea floated... :?:

Re: LSA query: Is the "portable hangar" option viable?

Maybe I missed the idea, but did anyone suggest looking for space to share in a hangar? If you could fit it, wings folded, into a corner of another hangar you might find a host willing to let you sublet...have seen it done -- not a lot, but some...still employs the advantages of the folding wings, a...

Re: Re Podapalooza: Aviation Business and Good Business Practice

Matt -- you're on to some good stuff; have long known how poorly general aviation promotes itself in general; flight schools, even when supported by things like Be-A-Pilot under promote and under market... What's worse is the poor job many do when they get someone in the door; instead of getting the...

Re: Would Dave fly this?

Heck, you'll have to see an Off-field take-off of the week before you'll see any off-field landing that follows...but that's an issue different from whether I'd fly it... So let's put this to rest with an "Absolutely maybe -- after watching somebody else log a few hours with the appropri...

Re: Don't mind me, I'm just a late bloomer...

Well, you've gotta be able to fly to be a fly on the wall -- so Congrats on sticking that landing ;) Although I count my entry entry into this world when hang gliding grabbed me at age 27, wasn't until age 45 that an airplane and actual license came into my possession...49 for the instrument -- and ...
