Visiting an Air Force Base

Postby pilot_ngb » Thu Jan 10, 2013 8:51 pm

One of my most memorable flights in 2012 was my visit to Luke Air Force Base. They held their first annual civil fly in for over 10 years. Approx 40 aircraft were allowed to fly into the event. The rest came by car. My co pilotdropped out at the last minute (!), so I ended up taking a rented C172 on my own for the short 50nm trip here in Arizona. This flight happened after about 45hrs PiC time. It was also my first overnight trip. There was something pretty cool about putting my suitcase on the back seat.Whilst there, some of us got to fly in the F16 sim. I naturally had to put it in my logbook! I logged 0,25hrs sim time!!

Hope you enjoy this short arrival video -
