Lost a Friend

Postby champguy » Thu Jun 19, 2014 9:53 pm

Sorry but I have to share this. I lost a friend last Sunday.
His wife was having her seventieth birthday and the extended family came for the party.
On Sunday morning, before everyone was up, he took his grandson for a scenic flight, lasted an hour, and a front came in leaving a 300 foot ceiling and fog and mist over the airport.
VFR into IMC. Ever heard that before? Reporters and FAA show up, what do you say? Who or what do you blame?
Tomorrow there will be a bonfire and a vigil down at the beach where they cleaned up some of the pieces. What do you say?
Bought a bottle of good whiskey and will remember a friend. Bad things happen to good people?
Fly safe.
Remember, not all who wander, are lost.
