Books For Kids

Postby cozy171bh » Mon Aug 20, 2012 12:05 am

Took my 8 year old son up today in the Co-Z for a short hop around the Vegas valley, over Red Rock, and back to VGT. When he flies with me, I try to teach him something. Today he managed all of the checklists as I taught him checklist methodology and management. After the flight, we walked the flightline and identified aircraft and their various features. He is a sponge and an avid reader. He is at a teachable moment and I want to capture that and keep his enthusiasm for aviation fired. I know that nothing beats flying, but during the days on the ground, I want to provide him educational resources that will aid his understanding and keep the flame burning....

Question: Anybody know of pilot education material oriented toward his age?

Well, in answer to my own question, the best resource for educating and motivating my son toward aviation is the man in the mirror!

Nothing teaches respect like giving respect.
Nothing teaches good behavior like setting a good example.
Time spent with a child, priceless.
Remember, not all who wander, are lost.
