I'm doing some flight planning for an event in Santa Fe I'm attending late September. Was looking for a good place or two to camp along the route, and came across Lee Bottom's website. Turns out they're having their big Wood, Fabric, and Tailwheel Fly-in the weekend of 9/21. Unfortunately, those are the same dates I'll be in New Mexico, but I'm trying to convince my buddy to check out Lee Bottom for a day or two before and help out with the preparations for the air show. Sounds like an incredible place to meet some aviation nuts, and considering the damage they suffered from the tornado a few years back, it's fantastic they're hosting events.
Anyways, thought I'd let other listeners know about it... and thanks to UCAP for bringing such a gem of a field to our attention.
Anyone else headed out that way?

here's a short video of our departure from Lee Bottom. Gives you an idea of what a special unique place it is... just a smooth buttery grass strip, and amazing country side. There was a flight of two yellow biplanes coming in as we departed, passing off to our left as we paralleled the river. Met some terrific people. Heard some stories you'll never hear anywhere else, and wished we could have stayed a few more days.
