Hey guys,

Here is my submission for the UCAP intro. Hope you guys like it. I
love the podcast and keep up the great work!

[ I'll upload his intro and link to it soon. -- Jack]

Also, I have two favorite airport restaurants -

1) The Southern Flyer restaurant at Brenham, TX (11R) is a 50's style
diner with great southern "soul food" and excellent burgers. It's right
on the airport, and it really does a good job of attracting non-aviators
from the local community to come out and eat. Every time I go I always
see some adult softball or little league baseball team there eating
after their game. My favorite part (aside from cute waitresses in
poodle skirts) is the screened-in deck out back with a great view of the
runway. Try the shakes or malts if you come here - all made with
locally made Blue Bell ice cream!

2) The Aviator's Grill at David Wayne Hooks Airport in Houston, TX
(KDWH) has some of the best burgers in the Houston area. This
restaurant primarily serves pilots, but a few non-aviators go there as
well. On any given day if you go in at lunch you'll see based pilots,
transient private pilots, transient jet jockeys, medical helicopter
crews, based flight instructors, and military aviators stopping in on
their training flights eating in this restaurant, with the sounds of
ground and tower control playing over the speakers in the restaurant.

Thanks again and I'll be listening soon!

A friend of mine took this picture of the poodle skirt waitresses in Brenham, TX.

OK, we need to jump in Jeb's plane and go straight to this restaurant. Now!

[Thanks for the pic, Pilot Bill.]

OK, make mine a double cheesburger -- and burn the cheese -- fries and a big, frosty chok-o-lot malt!

Ah, I see someone contributes to the ConUS Challenge! Good for your friend for claiming it before I had the opportunity. I was surprised by how few airports in the Houston area have been claimed already.

For those who don't know, the ConUS challenge was a challenge to GA pilots to "claim" every public-use airport in the contiguous 48 states by December 31, 2007. Sadly, they fell short of their goal. But, I believe the challenge still goes on and you can still go claim airports! For more info and to sign up, go to http://www.goflyamerica.org.
