The Washington Post, which has carried literally dozens of full page, color self-congratulatory LightSquared advertisements over the past several months, proves today that you can bite the hand that feeds you!

The ads, which cost big bucks in a newspaper that reaches an audience of congressmen, Hill staff and Federal regulators every day, have never directly mentioned the GPS interference issue while extolling the generosity and ingenuity of the LightSquared concept.

Today the Post's aviation writer, Ashley Halsey, penned an article headlined "Wireless Expansion Plan Would Eat GPS Signals, Critics Say".

One of the best quotes is, "LightSquared's proposal is sort of like driving a lawn mower in a library."

Well, if the political conspiracies don't get you, the finger pointing will... especially when you tell Congress one thing and then complain bitterly about the opposite in the national advertisements you place. ... letter-ceo

Just saw another online article yesterday. The LightSquare folks are still claiming that there's a 10 cent fix.

10 Cents? Do they really think people are going to buy that?

So if the fix is cheap, and LightSquared profits are proposed to be so vast, the solution is free replacement GPS units for all! :')

I seem to recall that we've seen warnings about large-scale GPS testing before that weren't related in any way to Lightsquared. I certainly hope this is one of those!
