Postby mbuto » Sun Feb 12, 2012 2:20 am

[from Google Translate]

A model aircraft Cessna 152 was caught on Tuesday (7) in a high-voltage network to about 20 m above the ground in rural Queluzito, metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte (MG). Two passengers were rescued unharmed, according to the Fire Department Hafizabad, who attended the event.

As a corporation, the passengers reported engine failure and tried to make a forced landing, but one of the wheels got stuck in the wire. The two men, who were upside down, were rescued by firefighters rappel in a risky operation, since the aircraft could fall.

Agreed. The pics are pretty spectacular. The 152 hanging upside down, with one main wheel hooked over the wire, suspending the whole thing. How do you do that? I mean, if you WANTED to fly it into that situation I'm not sure how you'd go about it. I mean without using a crane or a cargo-lift chopper.

And does anyone know if they got it down without damage?

PS. Oh yeah, and those Brazilians are pretty clever to have a C152 that can carry six people. Nice.

I have no idea, but he/she definitely wins the price for landing on the narrowest runway...
