Big security "oops" at JFK

This is a new one. Humorous, yet scary.

Sounds like the guy had a few too many and went jetskiing with some buddies. The jet ski broke down about 3 miles off the shore of JFK. He then swam towards the only lights he could see, the ILS lights of 4L. He then walked onto the field, crossed two runways, and towards the terminals, still doning a life jacket. He was then stopped by a Delta agent, and taken into custody.

The problem with this is that JFK has a $100 million dollar security system in place to prevent just this. What would of happened if this was a terrorist and he was able to get onto the field and walk right up to a gate like that?

Sigh... I am tired of this media security theatre, including the congress critters trying to make political hay out of it. There are dozens of ways of getting on to a Tarmac legally and illegally. It's not hard. And it will happen again, no matter how much we spend on security.

The TSA is playing a combinatorial game without taking into account probabilities. And every time they can come up with a new scenario - no matter how unlikely - we loose more of our freedom.
