The Flying Car Perfected??

Postby mbuto » Thu Oct 30, 2014 1:44 am

This just came out of left field. Great looks, and if it does what the designers say, it might actually be a viable vehicle for some.

From the website: AeroMobil 3.0 also implements a number of other advanced technologies, such as a variable angle of attack of the wings that significantly shortens the take-off requirements, and sturdy suspension that enables it to take-off and land even at relatively rough terrain.

Definitely cool.
Still got the problem of keeping airworthy something that drives down the road and then parks at the Mall or in front of a Tavern. Too many pot holes, inquisitive fingers, and drunk drivers parking by "feel".
But as long as we've got Supply Side/Trickle Down economics, there will always be a few people who can afford one of these, and probably they don't often go to a Mall or a common Tavern anyway.
Another perspective. Since this thing won't be parked in public anyway, all you are really saving is the cost of a hangar at the airport. Let's see. Airplane plus hangar or roadable airplane plus private garage plus Town Car for the Mall and the wife to drive it and do the shopping. Hmm, getting complicated.
As the Tower says, "Life" your option.
Remember, not all who wander, are lost.
