Attempting low(er) cost ADSB in the UK

Postby mbuto » Thu Feb 19, 2015 2:31 am

Hey Gang!

I came across this the other day put out by NATS (the folks managing airspace in the UK). It describes a trial of using a non-certified GPS source and transponder to get ADSB data out, as well as a second initiative - LPAT. This would be a low power, portable (ADSB lite) device that would at least make you visible in the ADSB world. You would still need a transponder

BTW, the blog has lots of cool stuff - definitely worth a look!

Cheers
