One-way runways

Hi,

Great podcast! I'm a US private pilot, but also have Netherlands and Singapore licenses, and have been flying in Asia for a while. I've blogged about some of my experiences at http://flyingplaces.blogspot.com. One experience in particular comes to mind: landing at Tioman island in Malaysia, on a one-way runway that ends in a mountain (you can read about it here: http://flyingplaces.blogspot.com/2007/12/one-way-approach-to-tioman-island.html). Are you aware of any such runways in the US? Any suggestions or tips on how to deal with those?

Hit hard, and hit the breaks. Any questions?
I rode down commercial to one of those Carabean republics where the runway started in the harbor and ended against a mountain. When I got my luggage it had hydrolic fluid all over it. When I considered the alternatives I didn't complain.
