Searchiing for an old N number.

Postby MarkVG » Sun Jul 26, 2015 8:49 pm

I need a little assistance searching for information on an old N number. I looked on the FAA web site, and all i would get are error messages. The number is G-630Y. Here is the kicker. It is for a glider in 1939. I will note that the glider was in Illinois, not England. I dont know when the country designaters were established, but this glider must predate it.

Not surprised that the FAA doesn't know anything about UK registration "G" numbers. World registrations like "G" numbers date back to 1919.
Wikipedia has a nice article which includes information about glider registrations. Most G registrations have all alphabetic letters after the G-. It is odd that the one you are looking for has numbers.
