Well said. Hammering them about the corporate jet among other things was probably the proper thing to do but in the end it was just sound bite fodder for the smoke and mirror game. Keep your eye on the jet while we try and pick the taxpayer pocket.

The Wall Street Journal had a good article about the "other" American auto industry that is not doing great but surviving this downturn just fine and not looking for a handout. These are Honda, Toyota, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The "Big Three" employ something like 230 thousand in the us and the "other auto industry" employs something like 130 thousand.

Honda, oddly enough is actually BUILDING a corporate jet in North Carolina.

Well....from what i've heard form this morning's news reports, rumors of the foreign makers zipping along with aplomb may be a bit premature...seems some of Europe's bast-known badges are also on the brink of getting needed government assistance; seems no one wants to see their major industrial resource go south...

And Honda and the HondaJet are a little behind their original timetable, so we'll see how well that program fares long-term. Word from some of the biz-av soothsayers is that the bottom won't be deep and the reversal not too long in coming...time will tell.

As the line goes, "Time Wounds All Heels" ;)
