Pilot was flying to Whistler and turned down the wrong valley. The beach craft musketeer they were in didn't have the climb performance to make it out, and there wasn't room to turn to get out.
They safely landed on a glacier, softly enough that they didn't set off the ELT.
They were found a day later hiking out near a river.
Questions: Why not manually engage the ELT? Did they try to use the VHF which was presumably still functional? Why abandon the aircraft when it's easier to spot from the air? Were they on a flight plan?
