Harrison Ford in the News Again

Postby AirportDude » Wed Feb 15, 2017 9:25 am

OK, while this one is technically not "off field" it definitely is a whoopsie!!

HEADLINE: Harrison Ford Lands On Taxiway

http://www.avweb.com/avwebflash/news/NBC-Harrison-Ford-Lands-On-Taxiway-228497-1.html?omhide=true

Not good news for aviation's celebrity ambassador. Looks like he lined-up on a parallel taxiway (TWY C) just left of the assigned runway (RWY 20L), and overflew an American B737 holding-short for departure. I'm sure the ensuing investigation is not going to be pretty.

Here's the link to the airport diagram at John Wayne-Orange County Airport (KSNA).

Yeah, this is already on "the list" for UCAP 423. Odd story.

After viewing the video that has recently been released, this is a big who cares. Another example of the ignorant media making a mountain out of a mole hill..... There are way more aircraft landing on taxiways in Wisconsin, California should step up their game!

here is the "Headline"

I've watched the video a couple of times, and everything I saw was that he had a very nice clean final approach... other than he's just a bit to the left of the runway centerline! (or as Bob Uecker would say, "Juuuuust a bit outside!")

From all accounts I've read, he flies into John Wayne/Orange County often. With such airport familiarity, one has to wonder what had him so distracted?

The "other" Jeff ;)
