Great burgers at Altoona, PA

Postby jimg » Mon Jan 07, 2008 7:54 pm

Hello UCAP fans.

One of my favorite fly-in restaurants is the Kitty Hawk restaurant
at Altoona Blair County Airport, near Altoona, PA. (AOO)

The burgers are tasty and the fries (and other potato dishes) are outstanding.
The staff there have been consistently welcoming and friendly, and on a nice
Saturday or Sunday there is always a line of planes forming on the ramp around
11:00 am or so. The restaurant is upstairs on the second floor of the terminal
building and the best spot is a window table from which you can watch the
ebb and flow of the air traffic from and to this well-regarded eatery.

There are two tiny pictures of the restaurant at this page
http://www.altoonablaircountyairport.com/services.htm
although the menus are not online as the page would have you believe. Doesn't
matter: they have burgers. What else do you need to know?

Thanks and enjoy,
Jim G
