- Wilbur Wright's altitude record: (Note from Jeff W. - I couldn't find any support for this claim. However, according to the historical monograph published by the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission in 2003, Wilbur Wright had set an endurance record on 21 September 1908, had previously climbed as high as 80 feet, reached 200 feet on 31 October 1908, and on December 18th of that year set another endurance record of 1-hour 54-minutes, and during the same flight reached an altitude of 115 meters, or 377 feet.)
